Our Step Up to Net Zero Project Manager, Rachael Martin, has been named as an Unsung Hero on the The ENDS Report Power List 2024!
With a background in environmental consultancy, Rachael Martin is responsible for Glasgow Chamber of Commerce’s Step Up to Net Zero project (fully funded by Glasgow City Council and the UK SPF) which supports Glasgow businesses in their efforts to reach net zero by funding four-month work placements and helping them to take action towards net zero and circular goals.
In 2021 and 2022, she also managed a COP26 education legacy project ‘My Climate Path’ for young people in Scotland, led by Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Glasgow. The initiative enabled employers to share their knowledge and experience with young people and inspire them towards future careers in green and circular roles.
She is a board trustee of the 2050 Climate Group and co-chair of the Young Leaders Development Programme subgroup.
Martin is described as a “true unsung hero” by one nominator who also said, “she does great stuff and just gets on with it quietly”.
