We are mindful that many businesses continue to deal with various situations and challenges which are arising as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. Glasgow Chamber of Commerce has been committed to calling for support for businesses to UK and Scottish Governments and signposting them to the various advisory and funding mechanisms to assist at this difficult time. As we all work towards economic recovery plans, we are conscious that many businesses will now be looking forward to how this will impact on them and how best to take the next steps towards this.
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce has been committed to working towards a circular economy for the city with our partners and believes it can play an instrumental role in progressing towards economic recovery: particularly mindful of unlocking innovative solutions for businesses.
Join our Circular Glasgow team for the first in a series of webinars looking at the opportunity of the circular economy across different sectors and industries. The circular economy is a £3 billion opportunity in Scotland and one helping businesses to support their bottom line as well as improving their environmental performance.
On Thursday 14th May, we will be looking at the opportunity of the circular economy for the construction sector. Currently, it is the largest, single industrial contributor to waste in the UK but by looking at the design of our buildings and the use of materials and technology, businesses have the opportunity to create a built environment fit for thriving, resilient cities and towns.
Join us for a short 1-hour webinar to learn more about what the circular economy within construction means, the support and funding available and how it could help businesses as they adapt and respond to a changing economic landscape.
You will hear from:
Doug Morwood, Chief Executive at Insight Futures, Clive Bowman, Project Manager – Circular Economy Construction at Zero Waste Scotland and Jennifer Smart, Innovation Manager at Construction Scotland Innovation Centre, who will share how their organisation is working to make circular principles more embedded within construction as well as the support and funding available.
